It has been a while – but we are making progress. This winter has been the coldest since we left Exmouth 11 years ago, and most of the garden has been dormant. However, the mandarin tree has been prolific, the broad beans are growing like mad and beginning to flower, and the bok choy are growing really well (the first time I’ve tried to grow bok choy – it seems to be quick growing and not prone to bugs, and it tastes great).
I love the feeling you get when a regular customer comes back for another piece. One of my customers (lets call her May) has bought a number of pieces from me – and she asked for a special piece – a long necklace with hollow beads.
This is the piece I made for her – shown here and below as a work in progress.
The piece was mailed to her, and she came back to me to tell me how delighted she is with the necklace. Its long enough to wear as a double or triple string, and the colours are fabulous.
Thank you May!
This necklace is a one of a kind piece for a special repeat customer. She wanted a long necklace – long enough to be worn in two loops. Getting close to finished now…

Just listed in my Shop – lively vibrant colours and contrasts with blown hollows!
The main beads are blown hollow glass beads. Hollow glass beads are lighter and the transparent hollows refract and reflect the light off the inner and outer surfaces to add life and sparkle. The satin black hollows have been sandblasted to create a gorgeous contrast in texture.
The necklace also has long tube beads and glass rings over the tube beads and spacers. The main beads are separated with small glass pea beads and seed beads so that the necklace is flexible and supple, so it sits just so and feels great when you wear it.
The matching earrings have forest green and etched satin black beads hanging form sterling silver ear hooks.
Forest Green and Tangerine Necklace
This necklace comprises forest green, tangerine and black blown hollow beads, with tube beads, glass rings and spacers. The necklace has a hand made glass clasp.
Forest greeen and satin black earrings
These earrings match the forest green and tangerine necklace. The beads are of transparent forest green glass and etched satin black glass. The earrings are on Sterling Silver ear hocks and findings.
A brand new Black and White Series necklace, just assembled and still warm from the kiln…
